Efficient Biomass Drying with Flash Dryer Technology

The Biomass Flash Dryer is designed to rapidly and efficiently reduce the moisture content of biomass materials such as sawdust, bamboo dust, sugarcane bagasse, and other fine agricultural or forestry residues. The system combines wet biomass with a controlled steam of hot air to produce uniformly dried material suitable for further processing.

Working Principle

Wet biomass is continuously fed into the system through a screw conveyor, where it comes into direct contact with hot air generated by an external furnace. The high-velocity airflow carries the material through specially designed drying ducts at a controlled operating temperature.

An Induced Draft (ID) fan creates negative pressure throughout the system, ensuring continuous airflow and smooth material movement. During the short, controlled residence time, rapid heat transfer and the large exposed surface area of the fine biomass particles enable moisture to evaporate efficiently.

The resulting water vapour and exhaust gases are drawn towards the bag filter or chimney through the ID fan. The dried biomass is separated from the airflow inside the cyclone separator, settles at the bottom, and is continuously discharged through a Rotary Airlock Valve (RAV).
